Usa TANAKA, born in Aichi Prefecture of Japan, has been interested in painting since she was young. Even she didn't take formal aesthetic education before, she was the winner of Illustration Books Contest held by Japanese publisher with her first illustration book "Take a Short Break" in 2003. In 2004 she became a professional illustrator and has published her illustration books among Europe, US and Asian countries since then. This time, she came to Taiwan for her first edition of Mandarin illustration book "Gift" (2005) and solo painting exhibition in Planet 6 Gallery of her separated art works apart from illustration. As for her, at the one hand, illustration is a narrative dynamic context including messages and stories for readers. At the other hand, painting is more prong to her inner side of awareness and perception, more self-reflection alike. If anyone can feel relaxed and be inspired by her painting, she said, would be the biggest support for her to keep creating and painting.

Benrei HUANG, graduated from Art department of NTNU, have been as an illustrator for around 20 years. She is living in New York currently, and have her first solo painting exhibition in Eslite Gallery this time, which gives her another identity as an artist. Adorable and subtle 24 pieces of uni-size art works are taking a queue along interior walls, depict her feelings to daily life and some disobedient thoughts. White bunny NINI is the most apparent character of her works. It discovers different time and space in each painting and sees different worlds as well, such as having a high tea in the afternoon or looking down to own shadow when getting alone for instances. It looks like something to tell yet plain complexion doesn't provide any clear vision for contexts. Benrei HUANG titled each work with a narrative sentence so that the audience can easily get into the world she created inside of the painting.

Pixar gives us a whole new formula regarding what animations are meant to be, whatever the materials or forms it takes, its 3D animation always contains a sort of wild and ardent film languages. It aims to create a balance between imagination and true world. The exhibition of Pixar 20 Years of Animation, hosted by TFAM and Environmental Art Centre, begins from 7th of August at 1F of TFAM. Since 2005 the exhibition was curated in MOMA, it has been traveled the world without stimulable titles but showing designers' direct and simple conception during creative process. Along with creative ideas, story boards and color scripts, short films and digital installations, documentaries of designers and so on around 600 pieces of art works are presented to you in this exhibit. Also you may see Pixar designers' operations behind each film you see in the movie theatre, which contains imaginative abundant energy.

trivialness-Let It Rain!
The name of trivialness came from artful observation to the world by a group of young people. "Although we can't see dusts in the air anytime," the directer Shi-Hua CHEN said, "they are shown by a sudden ray of light in some moments." Hence, trivialness would like to bring everyone to reflect the familiar things at hands, moreover, to look up their values as beings. Even dusts would be still shown with light.

"Death" is an inevitable destiny of everyone in this world though it isn't talked about among us. The main role Mark of "Farewell, Mark" was a comedian, his satisfactory life and joyfulness bring people around him optimistic energy yet, something unspoken behind of his natural careless personality, which is an alert of lost. After he knew his most disliked high school classmate dead and suffered unexpected death of his best colleague Alice in a magic performance, he suddenly realized human lives were passing away silently and ruthlessly, at the same time, he was also aware of a possible farewell of a longtime frail girl who had been around him for so long.
The best ever humorous duo in TV entertainment show- Chia-Chia PON and Hsiau-Shun HSU, attend National Theatre this time on 14th of August for a performance of a Taiwanese countryside musical, "My Dear Next Door", which was edited from a same-titled novel written by a famous early writer Fong-De LIAO. In 1980, the novel as the winner of the Best Annual Novel Award of United Newspaper, had depicted the concerns to human beings by writer himself profound and thoughtful nostalgia to the country land. The writer did a longtime research of contemporary issues and wrote about human natures of greed, selfishness, coward and degeneration with his vigor of style in writing. He took his responsibility and pity on disclosure of human natures with humorous chapters of farce, to earn public's attentions. The novel had also been revised to a successful 7 years TV drama "Unarguable Relatives" on PTV.
